Lisa Johanns, LPC - EMDRIA
Lisa Johanns, LPC – EMDRIA-Approved Consultant Lisa Johanns, LPC, is a seasoned therapist with over a decade of experience across all levels of care. She is deeply passionate about working with individuals who have experienced trauma, approaching each person not through the lens of tragedy, but with a profound respect for their resilience. Lisa began her trauma-focused work with specialized training in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), successfully supporting children and families through their healing journeys.
Driven to expand her therapeutic toolbox, Lisa pursued EMDR training—initially drawn by the compelling neurobiological evidence that spoke to her background as a former biology teacher. What began with skepticism quickly transformed into conviction as she witnessed the power of EMDR to help clients untangle painful memories and rebuild a more integrated, positive sense of self.
As an EMDRIA-approved consultant, Lisa is committed to mentoring clinicians as they develop both competence and confidence in EMDR. She believes in the transformative potential of this work and is passionate about equipping more therapists with the tools they need to support clients on their path toward healing.
